About Us
We are an Old Fashioned, Independent Baptist Church located in Clay County, Florida. Built and started in the 1940's in Jacksonville's Yukon territory as Yukon Baptist Church, we have since grown and relocated where God has blessed and grown our ministry at Thunder Road Baptist Church, where we continue to point souls to the cross of Calvary. Our mission is to reach the unbeliever and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ until his glorious appearing.
Our Beliefs
Thunder Road Baptist Church stands firmly upon the divinely inspired scriptures within the Kings James Authorized Version 1611 A.D. We believe it to be inerrant and infallible, and will continue to preach it's contents until the coming of the Lord. (Psalms 12:6-7; II Timothy 3:15-16)
We believe in the one, living and true God; unity of a three-person Godhead (trinity) consisting of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (Exodus 15:11; John 1:1-2; I John 5:7)
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. He was and is the vicarious atonement for our sin. We believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ; that He ascended into heaven, is seated at the right hand of the Father, and lives to make intercession for all born-again believers, thus making them eternally secure. (John3:16, Ephesians 1:13; I Timothy 2:5; Heb 7:22-25)
We exercise both of the church ordinances. Christian baptism is an act of obedience, symbolizing the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior. This is symbolic to the believer’s death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus. The Lord's Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby members of the church, through partaking of the bread and the fruit of the vine, memorialize the death of the Redeemer and anticipate His second coming. (Matthew 28:19-20; Romans 6:4-10; I Corinthians 11:23-28)

Hello neighbor, I am Pastor Cory McDonald. My family and I are honored to have been serving with this wonderful congregation of saints since January 1, 2017. We are been blessed to have such a wonderful, loving church family with whom we enjoy true worship and dedicated service towards our blessed Savior. I am truly humbled by how much God has blessed us in the past couple years between the souls saved, families added, and the excitment among the bride of Christ! We are continually blessed in the fellowship of the saints and excited in our pursuit to reach more souls for the cause of Christ!
